Symptoms are worse in the evening, especially when lying down
Symptoms worsening in the evening is another one of the criteria necessary for an RLS diagnosis.
If your symptoms aren’t worse at night, it may not be RLS. Some people with RLS, however, can have severe daytime symptoms too.
Because some foods that may be causing or worsening the problem, avoid:
- review all medications you are taking with your doctor to determine if any of these drugs could be causing the problem.
Underlying medical conditions that aggravate restless legs:

- nutritional deficiencies
- kidney disease
- thyroid disease
- Parkinson’s disease
These should be treated. Dietary supplements to correct vitamin or mineral deficiency may be recommended. For some people, these treatments are all that is needed to relieve RLS symptoms.

Planning a schedule for sleeping may sound useless when you are suffering from this kind of problem but it’s not the truth!
Adapting some habits can drastically change the quality of your sleep, if you are wondering what are those habits then here are some of them:
• Going to bed every day at the same time
Going to bed every day at the same time is a great way to fall asleep easily.
Because our body has an internal clock that creates a schedule if we perform some specific activities daily at the same time.
So if you start sleeping at the same time then every day, the internal clock will know when to induce sleep which will help you sleep really easily.
• Keeping Screen Device Away Before You Go To Sleep
Devices such as laptops, phones, computers, and TV emit blue lights that can make it harder for you to fall asleep and this can result in restless sleep as well.
2. Exercise Regularly
Exercise may not sound like a good idea when you are suffering from RLS but its not the truth, many people find exercises so helpful to relieve mild RLS symptoms.
They can help you improve blood circulation which may improve some symptoms.
You can try exercises like walking, cycling and swimming but vigorous exercises can make your symptoms worse, so you must be careful while exercising.
3. Prevent caffeine
Caffeine reduction can occasionally ease restless legs. For a few weeks, try to stay away from anything that contains caffeine, such as chocolate, coffee, tea, and soft drinks to see if it helps.
4. Think about utilizing a vibrating pad or a foot wrap.
A foot wrap made specifically for those with RLS applies pressure to the foot and could help you feel better. Another option is to apply a vibrating pad to the back of your legs for relief.
